(A)Challenge
Design an intuitive and user-friendly shared wallets app that simplifies financial interactions between users while making the underlying financial processes easily understandable. The app allows users to add real money to a shared wallet and automatically split expenses and funds among a group.
It is crucial to ensure users clearly understand how their money is being allocated, how expenses are shared, and how much each participant owes or is owed from the wallet balance, all while maintaining a playful aesthetic that appeals to a young adult audience.
(B)Approach
Insights gathered from the research revealed that while many users engage in shared transactions weekly, a significant portion expressed frustration with the time-consuming nature of the process, which involved constant tracking, calculations, and communication through messaging apps.
Leveraging this the app was designed to simplify expense tracking and sharing as an all-in-one solution, allowing users to manage everything seamlessly within the app. Prioritizing simplicity and transparency, the final design featured a playful aesthetic that made managing shared finances both effortless and enjoyable for the target demographic.
